Anonymous asked: What's the point of Greek version of Celtx when you cannot create PDF from the script written in Greek?
Good question! There are three elements to a complete answer. I’ll give you all of them.
1. Here at Chez Celtx, we feel privileged to have had sufficient user-demand to have our program available in 34 languages. I feel I should put this in perspective — we do not speak 34 languages. Those languages represent many many hours of labours of love from members of our community who voluntarily translated our program into their own language.
2. Translating Celtx means a translation of the user-facing words. Every menu command, every error message, every warning dialogue is written in English and made available in the form of a document that a volunteer translator can download, translate and re-upload.
What a translation does *not* do is translate the capabilities or limitations of the program itself. So a translation into Greek does not introduce the capability of translating certain non-English accented characters.
3. As a final note, we discovered in the first 24 hours of our recent cloud launch (again, thanks to non-English speaking members of our community!) that despite some rigorous testing, non-English accented characters are responsible for causing Celtx Script on iOS devices to crash upon synching. This is a legitimate “oops” on our part and we have promised a bug-fix ASAP. Our developers are optimistic they will have a solution on the server by end of Monday, 27 February.
